PRODUCT SUMMARY
The 'Mako' collection includes the 'Shark' men's necklace and originated from the inspiration received by Chris Hawkins; 'Inspired by the perfectly evolved beauty of natures predators'. His understanding and appreciation of the natural world is shown with his men's jewellery collection. Pieces such as the 'Shark' represent this concept and the design ability of Brighton based Chris Hawkins.
The 'Shark' necklace is constructed from dark brown leather which sits at 46cm long. The length of leather has a 3mm width and a round profile. The necklace fastens securely around the wearer's neck by using a medium sized, 925 silver lobster clasp.
The leather necklace is used to suspend a 4cm long and 2.2cm wide (tapers to a point), solid, 925 silver pendant. This pendant has been designed as a sharks tooth. The silver has been smoothed and left with a light satin finish. The top section of the pendant has been detailed and textured with an uneven surface much like a sharks mouth with the natural layers of teeth.
This section has been oxidised. The details and texture are enhanced with this process whereby the silver has been darkened. This offers a contrast to the smoothness of the exterior pf the pendant. The pendant hangs asymmetrically from the necklace and is connected to the leather using a signature design shaped bail from Hawkins.
The curvature of the silver men's pendant and the combination of materials makes this men's necklace a stunning example of Hawkins' work. The 'Shark' leather necklace comes delivered within an official Aaron-Kane presentation box.
