Inspired by Icelandic glacial forms, the 'Glacier' collection from British designer Chris Hawkins Has been innovated to convey formations within the natural world. It is this concept that has influenced the creation of the 'Shard' men's ring.
The 925 silver constructed ring has a width which sits between 4mm and 1.5cm and has a depth of 2mm. This tapering style men's ring offers a statement style that has a masculine and individual appeal. The entire exterior pf the silver has been finished with a fine satin polish. This process lends a matte finish.
What disguishes this men's ring is the 5 fragments that have been seamlessly cut into the silver. Each section varies in shape and length, offering a natural and individual style. The connecting bar that sits in between each fragment has been perfectly curved and then oxidised to give a contrasting recessed background for the satin polished silver surface on the outer sections.
The shape of the ring conveys Chris Hawkins' take on the formations that occur within nature in Iceland and the glaciers. The 'Shard' ring does this perfectly.
