PRODUCT SUMMARY
The 'Stingray' collection has been inspired by the natural formation that occurs on a stingrays skin in the ocean. It is the idea that has resulted in a stunning men's jewellery collection being created and innovated by British jewellery designer Chris Hawkins. Based within his studio in Brighton, Hawkins has evolved necklaces such as the 'Stingray' for men that are original and exemplary in their design and style.
It is the materials used to create this 'Stingray' necklace that first individualises and characterises this men's necklace. It has been constructed from solid 925 silver that has then been coated in the rare and precious rhodium metal. Part of the platinum group, rhodium is corrosion resistant and extremely strong. the rhodium used is black rhodium which gives the necklace a dark, polished surface.
The 'Stingray' is made up from a 50cm long box chain. Each link that forms this chain sits at 1cm long, 2mm wide and 5mm deep. To fasten this necklace securely around the wearer's neck the chain closes using a toggle clasp. This feature offers an alternative style and design to the function of the necklace.
It is the central toggle that adorns this necklace and replaces the normal use of a pendant. Sitting at one end of the chain is a 'linking ring', a large, 3cm wide by 2cm deep hollowed panel which has been softened with rounded, tapering edges. The surface of this ring has been designed with the Stingray pattern. The Rhodium plated silver has been pressed to offer small, rounded segments, giving the surface texture and detail.
It is this ring that closes the necklace as the second part to this necklace threads through. This second section sits at 3.5cm long and 7mm wide. It has been designed to taper to a soft point enhancing the ergonomic design feature. The darkened finished of the rhodium plated silver and the stingray themed design features offers an individual style men's necklace that is superb and stunning.
